A number of new appointments in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine are expected this week, in particular, to the key positions of the ministers of infrastructure and regional policy.
Deputy head of the Office of the President, Oleksiy Kuleba, may be appointed to the post of head of the newly created Ministry of Regional Policy. Viktor Mykyta, the current head of the Zakarpattia Regional Administration, can be appointed to his place in the Office of the President. The possibility of granting Oleksiy Kuleba the status of vice prime minister is also being considered.
Oleksiy Chernyshov, chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, is considered the favorite for the position of head of the Ministry of Infrastructure, who will obviously also receive the status of vice prime minister.
It is worth noting that the possibility of transferring the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries and Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin to the post of the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure was previously considered, but this option was rejected.
Some sources indicate that consideration of candidates for vacant positions in the Cabinet of Ministers, in particular the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, is of strategic importance before the Conference on Reconstruction of Ukraine scheduled for June 11-12 in Berlin. Probably, appointments can take place already from June 4 to 6.
The final decision on all personnel issues is planned to be made tonight at a meeting of the leadership of the parliament, "Servants of the People" and the president.
