The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Bureau of Economic Security, have uncovered a corruption scheme related to the overhaul of gas and oil wells in the Poltava region. The persons involved in the case were the head of one of the departments of JSC "Ukrgazvydobuvannya" and the heads of a private enterprise.
According to the investigation, a state-owned company announced a tender for technical supervision services for well repair. The winner was a private company that provided false information about the qualifications and certification of its employees. This allowed the company to gain access to state funds, which were later misappropriated.
In 2023–2024, the state suffered losses of over 5 million hryvnias. This fact was confirmed by the results of a forensic economic examination and an internal investigation by JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya.
According to the materials of the SBU, the director of the department of a state-owned company and two managers of a private enterprise were notified of suspicion. They are charged with crimes under Part 5 of Article 191, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 5 of Article 191 and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanctions of the articles provide for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions are currently underway to clarify all the details and bring the perpetrators to justice.
