In Ukraine, the activities of the Political Party "Our Territory" are prohibited through the connections of its leadership with the aggressor state. Among the party leaders - Andriy Derkach and Vladimir Saldo, both appear in treason.
According to the Ternopil website, the corresponding decision has been made within the trial, which has been going on for over a year. The basic grounds for prohibition are to promote the occupying power of the Russian Federation and the participation of individual representatives in the implementation of the policy of the aggressor state.
Andriy Derkach, a former MP, is now a senator of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federation from the Astrakhan region. His open ties with the Russian special services were confirmed by investigations of Western and Ukrainian structures. In the US, it is under the sanctions for attempting to influence the US election.
Volodymyr Saldo, another party leader, opened the Russian occupation of the Kherson region in 2022 and agreed to lead the so-called "military-civilian administration" created by the invaders. After the de -occupation of the SBU region, he was suspected of treason.
The case file mentions more than 50 people related to the "Our Region" who participated in the organization of pseudo -referendums in the occupied territories, held positions in collaborative administrations or directly cooperated with the Russian occupation authorities.
Despite the decision to ban, the appellate consideration in the Supreme Court lasts more than a year. The next meeting was scheduled for May 22, 2025. The consideration of the case was partially delayed after Judge Sergey Uhanenko, known in 2019, allowed participation in the parliamentary elections of Renat Kuzmin's pro -Russian policy, made a decision in favor of one of the parties.
We will remind, Kuzmin did not live in the territory of Ukraine for five years before the elections, which was a direct violation of electoral legislation, but then the court recognized his right to participate in the elections.
Thus, the case of "our region" is part of a broader trend - the purification of the Ukrainian political field from the structures related to the Russian Federation. Among the direct grounds for banning the party - cooperation with the enemy, undermined national security and participation in crimes against statehood.
