The "Servant of the People" faction warned deputies about a possible consideration of personnel issues in the Verkhovna Rada at the end of April. The fate of several ministries and individuals is planned, including the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Sports, Iryna Vereshchuk and her Ministry of Reintegration, as well as the Ministry of Reconstruction and Infrastructure.
The presidential administration intends to resolve as many personnel issues as possible during the current parliamentary session. This is due to the fact that it is a well-known fact that government positions that are not resolved in time can remain delayed for months or even years, as the experience of past governments shows.
It is worth noting that revisions in the Cabinet of Ministers have already taken place. In connection with the growing tension due to the conflict with Russia, the deputies, by a majority vote, summoned the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksandr Kubrakov and the head of the State Agency for Reconstruction Mustafa Nayem to report.
Reshuffles are possible in the infrastructure and recovery sector, but this is not the most likely scenario. Currently, Bankova has not yet made a final decision regarding the reshuffling and liquidation of certain ministries. However, the main trends are already visible.
It is likely that the fate of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the Ministry of Sports will be decided at the end of April. This may lead to their liquidation or transfer of functions to other bodies. The idea of creating a separate "ministry of propaganda" that will fight against Russian aggression in the information space is also being considered.
There is also a possibility of liquidating the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, but the fate of its head, Iryna Vereshchuk, is still unknown. This may lead to the transfer of some IDP management functions to other bodies.
Another option involves the strengthening of the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko, who may receive additional responsibilities in the infrastructure sector. Another scenario is also being considered, under which Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of Naftogaz, can occupy important positions in the government.
Despite all the rumors and speculation, Denys Shmyhal, the prime minister, said that personnel changes are not currently a priority, and they will be discussed with the parliamentary majority and the president.
