Support for Ukraine may be undermined by the unexpected alliance of Trump, Orban and Pope Francis

Western military and financial support for Ukraine may be at risk due to the formation of a new political alliance that will unite former US President Donald Trump, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Pope Francis. The Independent writes , referring to a conversation with the Hungarian ambassador to the Vatican, Eduard Habsburg-Lorraine, this union can significantly affect the geopolitical agenda.

He "played a decisive role in efforts to create an international coalition to find a 'peace agreement' to end the war."

Hapsburg-Lorraine told the newspaper "what an important role Pope Francis played in supporting the agreement, which will probably enable Trump to push Zelensky to hand over territories to Russia."

According to the British newspaper, all other NATO allies are against such an agreement.

The Pope, together with Hungary, called for a ceasefire and negotiations to "break the cycle" of war and achieve peace.
