According to Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk, an increase in electricity tariffs in the country is inevitable, but it will be carried out at a "minor" level. This will take place in the context of an analysis of all financial resources available to the Ukrainian government, including assistance from international partners.
"We are discussing, in particular, the increase of tariffs. We are analyzing all the financial resources available to us, including the assistance provided by our partners, declared by them and which will be provided in the near future. We are analyzing the possibilities of our energy companies, in particular, we are discussing the possibility of increasing the tariff," Grynchuk said.
"Obviously, a slight tariff increase will still happen. But right now, the decision has not been made yet, discussions are ongoing," she added.
Earlier, People's Deputy Oleksiy Kucherenko stated that the authorities plan to raise the tariff by one and a half times - to 3.5-4 UAH/kWh (now 2.64 UAH).
