SBU and DBR detained the DPS official in Sumy region for soliciting bribe for license for fuel
The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the State Bureau of Investigation, exposed the official of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Sumy Oblast to demand a bribe.
According to the SBU, it is about the head of the department of control over excise goods. Law enforcement officers documented that the official demanded an undue benefit from the entrepreneur for assistance in issuing licenses for fuel implementation.
The official involved the mediator, which planned the transfer of money. During the receipt of the funds, both defendants were detained on hot.
Currently, the detainees have been informed of suspicion under Article 368 (368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - receiving an undue benefit by an official combined with extortion. The sanction of the article provides up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions are ongoing, possible accomplices and other episodes of criminal activity.
