Weather in Ukraine: precipitation will stop, but the front will return by the weekend

This week in Ukraine, you should not count on snow cover. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the weather will improve in the middle of the week - precipitation will almost stop, and the wind will weaken.

"Now we have processes from the northwest. Therefore, we have an atmospheric front and a rather powerful gradient coming from there... The pressure drop is, let's say, big. Because on the Scandinavian side, we have a field of reduced pressure. And it is in his system an atmospheric front that passes through us. At the same time, we have a field of increased pressure over Europe. And accordingly, there is this gradient," she said.

Speaking about the strengthening of the wind, the forecaster noted that on December 17, "it will already weaken a little, and we expect that it will remain only in the western regions, but there it is already the first level, 15-20 meters per second," said Ptuha.

According to forecasters, temperature indicators will rise.

"In the afternoon +3°...+8°. The southern part is generally +7°...+12°. That is, the amplitude of the temperature, compared to the weekend, is also noticeable," said the forecaster.

On December 18-19, the high pressure field from the west will intensify. Accordingly, there will be no significant precipitation in most regions. Only in the east and northeast of the country there may be light rain and sleet.

"The temperature these days is also at night from +4° to -3°. December 19, except that at night on the left bank in some places it can be up to -7°. Due to the fact that there will be clarifications," said Ptukha.
On Friday, December 20, another atmospheric front awaits Ukraine, which will come from the northwest, but it is not very active. "This will cause the temperature background to drop a little over the weekend," the expert said, adding that in some places it may be about minus values at night.
Yes, the forecaster noted, so far we have a winter period "with fluctuations" and episodic manifestations of frost.

The forecaster announced unstable weather in Ukraine - what is known

Earlier, forecaster Ihor Kibalchich noted that unstable and wet weather is expected in Ukraine this week. Gusty winds will be observed at times, and temperature fluctuations are also expected.

According to Kibalchich, windy weather with periodic snow, sleet and rain is expected in Ukraine in the coming days due to the activation of cyclones and atmospheric fronts from the northern part of the Atlantic.
