A Ukrainian citizen who threatened to commit arson on social media has been deported from Poland due to his reaction to Polish President Karol Nawrocki's decision to veto a bill on social support for Ukrainians.
Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kerwiński reported that on August 29, a Ukrainian was detained due to a TikTok video in which he publicly made threats.
" That's the end of the story: a citizen of Ukraine who threatened to commit arson in videos was forcibly taken away and deported to Ukraine by border guards ," Kervinsky wrote on the social network X.
He added a video to the message, which captured the moment the Ukrainian was handed over by Polish border guards to their Ukrainian colleagues.
The scandal erupted after Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed a bill passed by the Sejm that would have provided social assistance to Ukrainians. The decision sparked a wave of debate and mixed reactions among citizens.
A Ukrainian who was in Poland recorded several videos in which, in response to the veto, he declared his intentions to commit arson. Law enforcement agencies reacted immediately, detaining him on August 29.
The Polish authorities decided to forcibly expel the man. He was handed over to the Ukrainian side, noting that Poland would not tolerate any public calls for violence or threats on its territory.
