Ukraine received three helicopters from Poland: two Mi-8 and one Bell 412-HP. This was reported by the State Agency of Strategic Reserves of Poland.
Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs became the direct recipient. There, these machines will be used to train future pilots.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar clarified that Polish helicopters have already arrived in Ukraine.
What kind of helicopters did Ukraine get?
The Mi-8 is a Soviet-made multipurpose transport helicopter developed in the 1960s. Purpose: transportation of cargo, passengers, military, medical evacuation, combat operations.
The maximum speed is 250 km/h, the flight range is up to 500 km (with additional fuel tanks - up to 950 km). It can carry up to 24 passengers or 4000 kg of cargo.
The Bell 412-HP is an American-made multi-purpose medium helicopter that is an upgrade of the Bell 212. Purpose: civil aviation (rescue operations, transportation), military tasks.
The maximum speed is 260 km/h, the flight range is up to 650 km. Capacity: up to 15 passengers or 2000 kg of cargo.
Both helicopters are widely used in medical aviation, police, military and civilian organizations in various countries. The Mi-8 is larger in size and carrying capacity, while the Bell 412-HP has more modern equipment, is suitable for operations in difficult conditions and consumes less fuel.
