Mykhailo Fomenko, a legend of Ukrainian football, died

Mykhailo Fomenko, the former coach of the Ukrainian national football team, passed away at the age of 76. This was reported by the Football Association of the Sumy Region.

As a player, he played for "Spartak" from Sumy, "Zora" from Luhansk and "Dynamo" from Kyiv.

From 1972 to 1978, he became the champion of the USSR three times with the Kyiv team, won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. With the USSR national team, he was a silver medalist at Euro-1972.

In the championship of Ukraine, he coached "Dynamo", with which he won the championship title in 1993, "Borysfen", "Metalist", "CSKA Kyiv", "Metalurg" Zaporizhzhia and "Tavria".

From 2012 to 2016, he led the Ukrainian national team, which he led to Euro-2016.
