Poroshenko has become richer by almost 40 million in the last two months

Petro Poroshenko, the leader of the richest parliamentary faction "European Solidarity", became richer by more than 38 million hryvnias in two months of the summer of 2023. The relevant information was published in the Unified State Register of Declarations on the portal of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP).

According to the submitted declarations for June and July, Poroshenko earned more than 38 million 200 thousand hryvnias. This caused a wave of criticism in the mass media and society, as information about other financial frauds related to Poroshenko and his party had previously appeared.

One of the biggest scandals concerns Poroshenko's investments in bonds through his own bank. According to media reports, Poroshenko invested 156 million hryvnias, which were collected by Ukrainians for his fund to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), in government debt bonds. This investment brought Poroshenko a profit of 50 million hryvnias, which remained untaxed.

In addition, the analytical report of YouControl indicates that the deputies from "European Solidarity", of which there are only 27 out of 401 in the parliament, during the war became richer by an amount greater than all other deputies combined. In 2022, despite the state of war and economic difficulties in the country, Poroshenko declared almost 1.5 billion hryvnias in earnings, which is 20 times more than before the war. Thus, he entered the top three richest oligarchs in Ukraine.

In 2023, compared to 2022, Poroshenko's fortune increased by another 224 million dollars, and is currently estimated at almost 1 billion dollars.

In addition, according to media reports, the funds collected by the Poroshenko Foundation and the related public organization Sprava hromad in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were used to provide bail for suspects in criminal cases, as well as to obtain profits from the purchase and sale of government bonds .

Another scandal relates to the fact that, according to the NAKC, Poroshenko's "European Solidarity" withdrew 35 million hryvnias from the state budget to its own account. These funds, which were supposed to be used to finance political parties, were appropriated through a government bond purchase scheme.
