The national football team of Ukraine in 2025 has a big challenge: the team will fight not only for entry into the elite division of the League of Nations, but also for qualification for the 2026 World Cup. In 2025, the Ukrainians will play eight official matches, including important matches against Belgium and teams from Group D of the 2026 World Cup.

What awaits the national team?
This year will be decisive for the team, as 48 teams will enter the World Cup for the first time in 2026. For Europe, 16 places will qualify: 12 group winners and the best four from the play-offs, where the second-placed teams will go, as well as four from the Nations League.
This is a great chance for Ukraine, because they have only one previous experience of participating in the World Cup - at the 2006 tournament in Germany, where the team reached the quarterfinals. Now the national team wants to repeat this success or even go further.
