US President Donald Trump has a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed the possibility of ending the war in Ukraine. Both leaders, according to available information, agreed with the need to establish a long peace and restore the dialogue between the United States and Russia.
The statement that appeared in the media stresses that the war in Ukraine should not begin and should be completed by "sincere peaceful efforts". Trump and Putin reportedly agreed on possible infrastructure steps to cease fire, as well as potential negotiations to unlock the Black Sea.
In addition to the Ukrainian question, the conversation touched the situation in the Middle East. The leaders discussed the risks of further escalation in the region, especially because of the threat of expanding military conflict between Iran and Israel.
