Pro-Russian blogger and propagandist Anatoly Shariy, who is in exile in Spain, reported on the attack on his car. He said at least two attackers opened fire on him and his wife using silenced assault rifles. Shariy published a video of the incident on social networks, stressing that the event is now under investigation by the local police.
"There was just an attack on my car in Spain, in which an automatic weapon was used. One of the attackers was active, the second was an observer who followed our movements and plans... The situation is currently under review... This issue is now in the hands of the Spanish police and special services," the blogger said in his Telegram channel.
Shariy also said that less than a week ago, Spanish law enforcement officers received information about a possible attempt on his life. According to him, the Spanish security forces have some information about persons who may be related to the attack.
It should be noted that an attempt to set fire to Sharia's house in Spain using Molotov cocktails was recorded already in October of last year. Video recordings of the events indicate that unknown persons threw "Molotov cocktails" in the direction of the blogger's house. But the persons behind this attack remain unknown.
As for Sharia, it is known that in February 2021 he was charged with treason and human rights violations. The Security Service of Ukraine stated that Shariy actively discredited government policy by spreading manipulative information about events in eastern Ukraine. In May 2022, Sharia was detained in Spain, but he was later released on the condition that he not leave the country. A new suspicion of treason was announced in the summer of 2023, claiming that he was organizing pro-Russian actions from Spain and distributing anti-Ukrainian materials.
