The well-known Ukrainian lawyer Rostyslav Kravets made a proposal to liquidate the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). According to the lawyer, the activity of this body does more harm than good, because, according to him, NABU covers persons who contribute to undermining the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
"NABU acts according to the principle of "no trial and no trial" when cases concern persons close to it or those who, on the order of foreigners, destroy Ukraine's independence and sovereignty and undermine its defense capabilities. NABU should be liquidated. Intelligence agencies of other countries are not needed in Ukraine," said Kravets.
He cited the decision of the investigating judge of the State Security Service of Ukraine, from which it follows that in the case of Shabunin, who received financial support and additional remuneration, but did not appear in the military unit, NABU detective Biryukov negligently conducted a pre-trial investigation. In particular, he did not investigate all signs of criminal offenses. Taking this into account, the judge canceled the detective's decision to close this criminal proceeding.
Previously, military officer Volodymyr Boyko published the details of Shabunin's case. He noted that during the inspection, the command of the Military Forces of the Russian Federation discovered that in 2022-2023, the soldier Shabunin, who was called up for mobilization to the 207th separate battalion of the Russian Federation (military unit A7376), did not appear in his military unit, because was considered "seconded to the NAKC" on the basis of Novikov's and Sytnyk's letters. At the same time, Shabunin received not only monetary support, but also an additional reward for the performance of combat tasks in the amount of 30,000. UAH per month, Boyko noted.
