Any advertising of gambling games and bookmakers is officially prohibited in Ukraine. The relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 583 was adopted on May 21, 2024.
These restrictions will be in effect until the new law on combating gambling addiction comes into force.
"Amend paragraph 1 of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated May 17, 2024 No. 566 "Some issues of combating the negative consequences of the operation of gambling on the Internet", adding subsection 1 after the words "restriction order" with the words "all forms", and after the words " by way of limitation" - with the words "namely prohibitions", - the resolution states.
By the decree of May 17, which was amended, the Cabinet of Ministers established the procedure for limiting the advertising of gambling games, as well as other designations under which gambling games are conducted, in particular with the use of electronic communications, the symbols of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the distribution of relevant contextual material.
The draft law on fighting gaming addiction is currently under consideration in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In the first reading, the Verkhovna Rada approved the draft law on the liquidation of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries and the strengthening of control over the gambling business.
The law restricts gambling advertising, specifically prohibits speculation on war and volunteerism, and prohibits sponsorship.
