RENAULT Duster leads the market of new passenger cars in Ukraine

In October 2024, in Ukraine, there is a significant decrease in the share of cars with traditional engines on the market of new passenger cars, which reached more than 62%. This figure is 4% less than in October 2023, when the share of traditional engines was almost 66%.

According to Ukravtoprom, cars with gasoline engines remain the most popular, accounting for 36.1% of October sales of new cars, although last year this figure reached 45.5%. Diesel cars took the second position with a share of 26.3%, which is a significant increase compared to 20.4% last year.

Hybrid cars continue to gain popularity, their share increased from 18.6% to 20.7%. Electric vehicles also showed positive dynamics, capturing 16.6% of the market, compared to 14.8% in October 2023. Cars with gas cylinder equipment (HBO) remain at less than 1% of new car sales.

The following models took the leading positions in various segments of the automobile market:

  • Gasoline cars : RENAULT Duster
  • Diesel cars : RENAULT Duster
  • Hybrid cars : TOYOTA RAV-4
  • Electric cars : HONDA M-NV
  • Cars with HBO : HYUNDAI Tucson

These results indicate a growing trend in the popularity of alternative fuels, such as hybrid and electric vehicles, compared to traditional gasoline and diesel models. This trend may indicate a change in consumer preferences and growing awareness of environmental issues in Ukraine.
