In October 2024, Ukraine saw a significant decrease in the share of cars with traditional engines in the new passenger car market, which reached over 62%. This is 4% less than in October 2023, when the share of traditional engines was almost 66%.
According to Ukravtoprom, cars with gasoline engines remain the most popular, accounting for 36.1% of new car sales in October, compared to 45.5% last year. Diesel cars took second place with a share of 26.3%, a significant increase compared to 20.4% last year.
Hybrid cars continue to gain popularity, their share increasing from 18.6% to 20.7%. Electric cars also showed positive dynamics, covering 16.6% of the market, compared to 14.8% in October 2023. Vehicles with LPG equipment (LPG) remain at less than 1% of new car sales.
The following models have taken leading positions in various segments of the automotive market:
- Gasoline cars : RENAULT Duster
- Diesel cars : RENAULT Duster
- Hybrid cars : TOYOTA RAV-4
- Electric cars : HONDA M-NV
- Cars with LPG : HYUNDAI Tucson
These results indicate a growing trend towards the popularity of alternative fuels, such as hybrid and electric vehicles, compared to traditional gasoline and diesel models. This trend may indicate a shift in consumer preferences and growing awareness of environmental issues in Ukraine.
