Famous Ukrainian restaurateur Misha Katsurin has for the first time commented in detail on the mass poisoning that occurred at his new Lviv restaurant, “Chinese Greetings.” The incident occurred on the restaurant’s opening day, July 16, and became the subject of a loud scandal.
In an Instagram post, Katsurin said that only one person remains in the hospital and that he should be discharged soon. “The best news of the week,” the restaurateur wrote, adding that he would like to wake up from all this “like a dream,” but he has to move on.
Katsurin also recalled the morning he learned about the poisoning: “I woke up, my guests wrote that they were feeling unwell, I also felt strange.” That day, his children arrived from Portugal, and the family was supposed to go on a hike in the Carpathians, but the plans had to be canceled: “My heart is in pieces,” he added.
The restaurateur himself was also hospitalized with a temperature of 39°C: “The hospital is full of people. It’s horrible. I’m trying to talk to everyone in person.”
We remind you that earlier the State Service for Food and Consumer Protection revealed numerous violations of sanitary standards at the restaurant “Kitaysky Privyt”. The police opened a criminal case on the fact of violation of sanitary rules (Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation is currently ongoing.
