Russia continues to improve its tactics of strikes on Ukraine, increasing its capabilities for massive attacks with kamikaze drones. As it became known, in recent months the aggressor country has opened three new launch sites for "Shaheeds" in the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region.
Russia has honed a new tactic of using kamikaze drones, aimed at maximally exhausting Ukrainian air defenses. The enemy releases massive swarms of drones, which include both strike and decoy UAVs. Their goal is to overload the air defense system and increase the chances of hitting targets.
The Russians also actively use high-altitude maneuvering, which allows the Shahed to disappear from radars while approaching targets. This significantly complicates the work of Ukrainian air defense forces. In one night, the occupiers can launch from 100 to 200 drones, which creates a serious challenge for defense systems.
According to RBC-Ukraine, three new sites in Primorsko-Akhtarsk have joined seven existing ones, allowing for an increase in the number of drones launched in a single attack. This means that Ukraine could face larger-scale air strikes in the near future.
Some of the drones launched by Russia may deviate from their route or attack civilian objects due to inaccurate coordinates. However, it is worth understanding that some of the strikes are targeted - the occupiers deliberately attack residential buildings, infrastructure, and energy facilities, pursuing terrorist targets.
The increase in kamikaze drone attacks requires further strengthening of air defense, expansion of radar detection capabilities and electronic warfare systems, as well as increased production and supply of anti-aircraft missiles.
Ukraine continues to seek new solutions to counter the drone threat, but in light of recent events, we should expect an intensification of attacks from the Russian Federation in the coming weeks.
