The Investigator of the State Bureau of Investigation Yaroslav Borodiy, who works in Kiev, declared $ 82,000 in cash, despite modest income. This figure appeared in his declaration for 2024, from which it follows that the family of a law enforcement officer lives on branched assets, and Borodius himself is connected with a judge, which is considered a symbol of a judge's "antimaidan" - Marina Shakhovnina.
In the property document, the investigator noted that he lives with his wife and two sons. The family uses an apartment of more than 135 square meters, which formally belongs to several relatives. According to the Declaration, in 2022, this housing cost them 95 thousand hryvnias - which, to put it mildly, does not correspond to the market value of objects of that size in Kiev. Another apartment is a 58 squares, provided by the Dnieper RDA.
Despite the presence of service housing, the standard of living of the spouse is unlikely to correspond to the image of state employees. In August 2022, Yaroslav Borodiy purchased an Audi Q7 car - a luxury model with an indicative market price of more than one million hryvnias. According to the declaration, the purchase cost it UAH 1.4 million. At the same time, almost half a million hryvnias have been accumulated in the family accounts.
Most of all, the declaration impresses in cash: the investigator has $ 30,000, in the judge - another 40 thousand, plus joint 12 thousand for two. All of these funds are declared as a cash in cash, without explaining the origin.
At the same time, the official income of the family looks quite average: in addition to the salary, Shakhovnina received one -time social assistance after the birth of the child, as well as payment from the state judicial administration.
Now Yaroslav Borodiy is a member of the National Bar Association of Ukraine, but his professional activity raises questions not so much because of work as through opaque financial reporting. The media already sounded critical grades about his wife - Judge Marina Shakhovnina, who at one time was distinguished by a number of decisions on Maidan activists.
Despite the status of the investigator in the DBR and the judge-persons who have to demonstrate an example of integrity, the lifestyle of the Borodiy-Shakhovnina couple demonstrates a completely different reality: when the service apartment, cash tens of thousands of dollars and a business class car look like a norm.
