The Russian occupiers continue to put pressure on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the entire front line, trying to advance in several directions. As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its summary as of November 17, 2024, the number of combat clashes has increased significantly. Over the last day, the enemy launched more than 130 missile strikes, carried out 61 air raids and more than 700 kamikaze drone attacks.
Key areas of attack
According to the General Staff, the most intense fighting continues in the east of the country. The occupiers remain highly active in the Kurakhiv direction, where at least 35 combat clashes have been recorded. Fierce fighting is also ongoing in the districts of Novaya Illinka, Berestkiv, Voznesenka, Sontsivka, Zora, Maksimilianivka, and Antonivka.
According to DeepState analysts, Russian troops were able to advance in the area of Chasovoy Yar and the village of Dalnye, as well as capture parts of the village of Berestki. Enemy progress was also recorded in the Voznesensky direction.
"The occupiers are trying to change their tactics, increasing the intensity of their attacks. We see a significant increase in the number of shelling and the use of kamikaze drones," the General Staff notes.
Russia does not stop striking Ukrainian territory, directing ballistic missiles, aerial bombs and drones at critical infrastructure facilities. Over the last day, in addition to rocket attacks, the enemy used 98 guided air bombs (UAVs) and conducted more than three and a half thousand artillery attacks.
"The enemy is intensively attacking the Ukrainian defenders in the Kurakhiv direction, trying to advance in the areas of Berestki, Voznesenka, and Dalny," the General Staff reports.
In connection with active hostilities and rocket attacks, residents of the frontline areas are urged to observe safety measures, hide in protective structures during air alerts and avoid being in open areas.
Despite the difficult situation at the front, the Armed Forces continue to hold their positions and retaliate against enemy forces. The General Staff emphasizes the importance of unity and support of the military, which protects the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
We will remind that the Russian troops are systematically attacking the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, trying to destroy critical objects before the winter period. However, Ukrainian air defense continues to work actively, shooting down enemy missiles and drones.
