Members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, People's Deputies of Ukraine Iryna Friz and Vadym Ivchenko, expressed their views on the idea of economic reservation from mobilization, noting the need for a comprehensive approach to this issue.
During the telecast of the national marathon, the deputies emphasized that the initiative regarding reservation from mobilization with an economic tie to the level of income could negatively affect the unity of Ukrainian society during the war.
Iryna Friz noted that such an idea is unpromising and immoral in nature, not contributing to justice in any way. She called for clear structuring of the economy and redistribution of budget funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Vadym Ivchenko emphasized the need for a comprehensive solution to the issue of economic reservation, proposing motivational measures and avoiding discrimination between citizens based on their social status.
However, both deputies agreed that consideration of this issue requires in-depth analysis and a consensus decision.
It should be noted that the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, expressed his doubts about the idea of economic reservation, comparing it to the historical example of the "cowardice tax". Earlier, Dmytro Natalukha, head of the Council's Committee on Economic Development, announced the possible registration of the bill on economic reservation by the end of March.
