The Ukrainian military continues to expand the bridgehead in the Kherson region, carrying out measures within the area of responsibility of the "Odesa" air defense system in the Kherson area. Despite significant losses, the defense forces are actively resisting enemy attempts to dislodge them from their positions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the last day, Russian troops staged nine unsuccessful assaults in this direction. It is noted that the Ukrainian defenders managed to gain a foothold on the left bank of the Kherson region as early as November 2023, and they successfully hold the bridgehead, preventing the occupiers from advancing.
Nataliya Gumenyuk, spokesperson of the Southern Defense Forces, emphasized that the Ukrainian military on the left bank of the Dnieper has an advantage in motivation. It is noted that the defenders are actively working on the expansion of the bridgehead in this direction, and even when enemy attacks are carried out with the help of drones, they continue to effectively defend their positions.
