The Zhytomyr regional prosecutor's office, which specializes in defense cases in the Central region, is investigating the death of a conscript after his visit to the local territorial recruitment center . This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on June 6.
Previously, the case was qualified under the article on intentional murder.
"According to the investigation, the citizen was taken to the RTCC and SP of the Zhytomyr Region to pass the VLK. According to preliminary information, he had an epileptic attack there. The man was taken to the intensive care unit by ambulance. On June 2, doctors confirmed his death at the medical facility," the message states.
The law enforcement officers are currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident, and the case is being investigated by the Zvyagel district department of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region. Previously, 32-year-old local resident Serhii Kovalchuk died after visiting the Zvyagel State Central Committee and SP to undergo a military medical examination.
Information from the military indicates that before arriving at the TCC, Kovalchuk "had been abusing alcohol for several days and had signs of minor injuries." The investigative team that worked at the scene allegedly qualified the event as "self-mutilation", stated in a statement released on June 4 by the Zhytomyr Regional TCC and SP.
But the father of the deceased, Mykola Kovalchuk, claims that his son was killed. He refers to medical reports, according to which Serhii had a fracture of the vault bone and skull. According to the man, the deceased was admitted to the hospital on May 29 and spent three and a half days in intensive care. Mykola Kovalchuk also added that the police started an investigation at the request of the family.
The head of the resuscitation and intensive care department of the Zvyagel hospital, Anatoly Bortnyk, said that Kovalchuk's condition was very serious immediately after hospitalization.
