On the night of President Volodymyr Zelensky's talks with Donald Trump, Russia carried out one of the most massive attacks since the beginning of the year. 270 Shahed strike drones and 10 missiles of various types were launched into Ukraine.
As reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense was able to destroy 230 drones and 6 missiles, including Iskanders and Kh-101. At the same time, 4 missiles and 40 UAVs reached their targets. Hits were recorded at 16 sites, and debris from downed targets was recorded at 3 more locations.
That same night, both sides struck energy infrastructure. In Russia, an oil refinery in Volgograd was hit, while in Ukraine, a facility in the Poltava region was hit, and previously, an oil refinery.
It is worth recalling that a decrease in the number of Shahed launches by Russia was previously recorded amid negotiations between the US and Russia. However, the new wave of attacks indicates that Moscow has once again switched to the tactic of massive pressure on the Ukrainian energy sector.
