The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare assets belonging to an official of the regional service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs unfounded.
As reported by "Law and Business" with reference to the NACP, the property of the employee and his family included five apartments and four parking spaces in the Zakarpattia region, as well as the cars "Mercedes-Benz E 200" (2013 model), "BMW 730D" and "Audi A8" (both 2018 model). The total value of the property is over 8.6 million UAH.
During lifestyle monitoring, the NACP found that one of the vehicles was purchased in the name of the official's daughter at 15 times cheaper than the market value. As soon as the verification of the legality of the property acquisition began, the official and his family transferred some of the assets to other close persons.
An analysis of the income and expenses of the official and his relatives confirmed that they could not have acquired these assets from legal sources.
Now the Supreme Court of Justice can decide to seize property in favor of the state in accordance with Article 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine.
