Another informant of Russian military intelligence was detained in Mykolaiv, a former accountant of a local enterprise. The woman is suspected of collecting the coordinates of objects for a new series of missile and drone strikes on the city. This was reported by the SBU press center.
According to the information of the department, the enemy was mainly interested in factories and production shops of the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine. Russian intelligence sought to obtain data on the locations of anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to try to carry out strikes on these objects, bypassing air defense systems.
According to the SBU report, the detained woman traveled around the city by various routes on public transport and carried out reconnaissance on foot. To collect information, she used a mobile phone, capturing the desired objects on video, pretending to talk to someone. She summarized the information she received in a "report" for her Russian supervisor - a staff member of the GRU. Information about this curator is already known to SBU counter-intelligence.
SBU employees documented the activities of the enemy accomplice and detained her in advance. The mobile phone, which she used to communicate with the occupiers, was seized from the detainee. Currently, the woman has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the dispatch, movement of weapons, armaments and military supplies in Ukraine, movement, movement or placement of armed forces).
The perpetrator is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison. The SBU continues the investigation and takes all necessary measures to ensure security in the region.
