The Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained another agent of special services of the Russian Federation, who worked in one of the hottest directions of the front - in the Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region.
According to the investigation, the 52-year-old resident of the frontier village was recruited by Russian curators through his relative, who lives in the Russian Federation and is already cooperating with the occupation regime. The main task of the agent was to identify the combat positions of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the transfer of precise coordinates for further strikes of the Russian army.
To complete the task, a man personally patrolled the surrounding area near the front line, fixing the location of Ukrainian artillery and mortar units. In addition, he tried to trust the military of the Armed Forces, asking them about the movement of equipment, ammunition and logistics ways - allegedly under the guise of accidental conversations.
Among the information transmitted were the coordinates of ammunition warehouses, supply routes and the location of Ukrainian armored vehicles. For his "work", the agent was promised to evacuate to Russia and a "safe life" on the controlled aggressor of the territory.
The SBU documented his actions and held a detention in Kamyansky, Dnipropetrovsk.
Currently, the man has been informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - State betrayal in the conditions of martial law. He is taken into custody. In case of guilt, he is threatened with life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
