The staff of the State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion of a law enforcement officer and a lawyer who illegally appropriated apartments of single dead people in Zaporozhye. The total value of the real estate that the attackers tried to appropriate is over UAH 3.6 million.
After the death of single owners of apartments who did not have heirs, the property had to automatically transfer to the property of the territorial community of Zaporozhye. However, the persons involved in this process, using service connections and falsification to take possession of real estate.
The law enforcement officer received information about the death of persons, and the lawyer, hiding behind professional activity, provided the legal registration of equipment in the courts. The attackers invented the fictitious debt of the dead, forged the documents and went to court with a request for debt collection in the form of apartments transfer.
To "legalize" the ownership of real estate, they used fictitious contracts of sale through the commodity exchange, which ceased to exist in 2012. After that, the apartments were put up for sale.
The investigation has installed at least five of these equipment that were to go into the community of Zaporozhye.
The defendants were informed about suspicion of fraud, legalization of criminal property, and the use of counterfeit documents. Sanctions are imprisoned for up to 8 years.
