The law on mobilization, which will enter into force on May 18, establishes new requirements for updating the military registration data of Ukrainians. Lawyer Mykola Maksimov said that citizens who do not update their data in the Territorial Center of Completion (TCC) within two months will face the consequences.
Recruits are given 60 days to update their information after the law is passed. If the person does not appear at the TCC, this structure will contact the police to declare him wanted. The function of searching for evaders is assigned to the police after two months from the date of entry into force of the law.
"If the TCC turns to the police to deliver a wanted person, administrative detention takes place. Coercive measures may be applied in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses, and the person will be taken to the TCC," Maksymov explained.
If the conscript is not found, the police will report this to the TCC, and an appeal will be filed with the court. The court can impose a fine of up to 25,000 hryvnias on the violator and prohibit the use of transport.
If the fine is not paid, the enforcement service procedure is applied. Property may be seized or the evader's card accounts may be blocked.
As a reminder, the update of military registration data will be available online through the draftee's electronic cabinet, which is being developed by the Ministry of Defense.
