June 1 - International Children's Day. It is one of the most famous dates of the calendar, symbolizing the care of the baby, her rights, freedom and well -being. It is from this date that summer holidays begin - the reason why the holiday is so loved by children.

In the folk tradition, June 1 is the day of summer meeting. People baked bread from new grain, harvested healing herbs, grazed cattle, and girls - wore wreaths of field flowers. It was considered happy to eat the first berries or treat them a baby.

This day is not recommended:

  • swear or quarrel;

  • abuse alcohol;

  • to make a fence - according to popular beliefs, it can lead to quarrels in the family;

  • avenge or wish someone evil.
