Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal spoke about the situation with mobilization in Ukraine and the number of people who have reservations from the draft during the Yalta European Strategy YES-2024 conference.
Shmyhal's key statements:
- Reservation volumes and possible increase Shmygal said that in Ukraine more than 900,000 people have reservations from mobilization. The Prime Minister noted that these figures may change, and in the future they may be even more. This shows the importance of coordination between the government, the military and business in ensuring the optimal balance between the needs of the front and the economy.
- The priority of mobilization and the role of the population According to the Prime Minister, mobilization is a priority for Ukraine, which is connected with the necessity of the country's survival in a state of war. Shmyhal explained that the country's population has two key roles: one part fights, and the other works, providing the budget and supporting the front.
- The importance of economic activity Shmyhal emphasized that economic activity is critically important for supporting defense efforts. He noted that the working part of the population should fill the budget, produce weapons and create other resources to support the military.
