The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a resident of the unrecognized Transnistria, who worked for Russian intelligence and tried to steal secret drone technologies of Ukraine. The man was taken in the hot in the Odessa region when receiving a flash drive with technical documentation for drones.

According to the investigation, the detained arrived in Ukraine under the guise of an entrepreneur who is allegedly engaged in importing Ukrainian food products. However, his true goal was to recruit a serviceman of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, who works with drone. Through it, the spy planned access to the technical characteristics of shock and reconnaissance drones.
Law enforcement officers found that the agent worked directly on the so -called "Deputy Minister of Defense of Transnistria", which cooperates with the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR).
However, the Ukrainian intelligence services exposed the spy at the stage of his entry into the country and tracked each step. The detention took place at the time of transmission of the flash drive with secret information.
The investigation believes that after receiving the data, the suspect intended to take them to Transnistria and establish the production of combat drones for the Russian army. The detainee also seized two guns.
If the blame is proven, the spy is threatened with up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
