In Ukraine, changes have been launched in the eOselya program, which provide an opportunity for forced migrants who left their homes due to the war to buy housing up to 10 years old. This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, Olena Shulyak.
The new initiative concerns housing located in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. Previously, under the eOselya program in these regions, only housing that did not exceed three years could be purchased. These restrictions significantly reduced the opportunities for displaced persons who sought to find new housing.
According to the new conditions, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and members of their families of the first degree of kinship can buy housing that was put into operation no earlier than 10 years before the date of conclusion of the contract. This became possible thanks to the introduction of changes to the conditions of affordable mortgage lending for citizens of Ukraine under the eOselya program.
Shulyak noted that the government has left unchanged the norm regarding the age of housing in Kyiv. In the capital, the eOselya program continues to operate with a restriction: housing cannot be older than three years. This aspect also needs further refinement.
