January 2025 starts warm: forecasters predict up to +14°C

The first days of 2025 will bring Ukrainians real spring warmth. According to well-known weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, January 1 and 2 will be surprisingly warm for the winter period.

Weather on January 1
The air temperature in Ukraine will be +5…+9°C, in the south of the country up to +12°C. No precipitation is expected on the first day of the New Year, but the westerly wind can be quite strong with gusts of up to 15-20 m/s.

It will also be warm in the capital: +1…+3°C at night, +5…+7°C during the day. The sky will remain cloudless, but a gusty wind will create a feeling of coolness.

Forecast for January 2
On the second day of the new year, weather forecasters predict more warmth: the temperature will reach +9…+14°C. Such weather will create a spring mood, but the westerly wind will remain strong, adding dynamism to the climatic surprise.

Natalia Didenko reminds that the calendar winter is still ongoing. A cold snap with frost is forecast in Ukraine on January 3-4.

December 31, 2024 also pleased Ukrainians with above-zero temperatures. In some regions, +0…+5°C was observed, in the south up to +11°C. However, snow cover remained in the Carpathians, and night frosts reached -2…-7°C.

Forecasters from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center note that this year's winter atmosphere can only be felt in the mountains, while the rest of the country celebrated the New Year in spring weather.
