Scandal in Ochakov: the mayor bought an apartment in Spain without having the funds for it

A new scandal hit the town of Ochakiv when it became known that Mayor Serhii Bychkov bought an apartment in Spain in the first year of the war, without having official funds for this purpose. This was reported by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP).

In his declarations for 2021-2022, violations were found for 15 million hryvnias: signs of illegal enrichment for more than 12 million and signs of declaring unreliable information for more than 3 million.

In addition to buying an apartment in Spain for UAH 5 million, he received a gift of UAH 12 million in cash from his mother, although she has officially earned a little more than UAH 580,000 since 1998.

And the mayor's wife received over 300,000 hryvnias on her card from an entrepreneur who repeatedly performed work for the Ochakiv City Council. She spent this money on her own needs, in particular, on clothes.

The case was transferred to the police.

Note that the court is currently hearing a case about the Russian Federation's attempt to recruit Bychkov through an already detained local official.

Also, local journalists asked Governor Kim why Bychkov did not report to the public after the start of the war, and why his deputy spoke instead. Kim replied that probably Bychkov is "such a person".
