Shell famine: Ukraine has two scenarios that depend on the US decision

The Ukrainian military is extremely short of artillery shells, and it is stated that only the USA among the countries of the free democratic world has sufficient reserves. The ex-commander of the company of the "Aidar" battalion, Yevhen Dykiy, spoke about this, commenting on the Bloomberg article about the letter of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine to the EU countries with a call to do more. It is noted that the Europeans actually do not have such reserves.

Dyky noted that only the United States has a large number of shells, but these reserves are currently blocked by the policy of former President Trump. Depending on how the situation in the US Congress develops, Ukraine will have to choose between two different scenarios.

The first scenario involves the resumption of US munitions supplies if Republicans and Democrats agree on funding within a month. In this case, Ukraine will need an offensive strategy. Despite the difficulties faced by the Armed Forces at the end of 2023, and the fact that the Russian army is significantly depleted, Ukraine can deploy active military operations using incoming shells.

The second scenario involves a complete blockade of aid from the Trumpists, which will lead to the fact that the Ukrainian defense forces will be forced to switch to defensive tactics. In this case, it will be necessary to ensure the security of the front line, hindering Russian attacks as much as possible. At the same time, Ukraine should take measures to extract the maximum amount of money to finance military operations. Such funds will be used for the production of own ammunition and search for opportunities to purchase ammunition around the world.

Within a month, it will be decided which of these plans will be implemented by Ukraine, depending on the political situation in the USA.
