On September 30, snow fell in several regions of Ukraine, which was a surprise for many. Winter precipitation was recorded in Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, in particular in Dragobrat, where a corresponding video appeared on the network.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, snow was also observed near Petros and on the Pozhizhevskaya poloniny. Photographs of the winter landscape on the Pozhizhevskaya Polonina, taken by Vasyl Shepetyuk, confirm this information.
At the top of Mount Pip Ivan Chornohirsky, the temperature dropped to -5°C, which was accompanied by fog and a northerly wind at a speed of 20-22 m/s, reports the Chornohirsky mountain search and rescue post.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned of possible wet snow, but in most regions of Ukraine they promised no precipitation today. Light rain was expected only in the west and north of the country, while wet snowfall was possible in the Carpathian highlands. The temperature in the western regions ranged from +9° to +14°, and in the rest of the territory it was from +20° to +25°, in the northern regions - from +14° to +19°.
Forecaster Ihor Kybalchich noted that October 2024 will begin with summer heat, but already on the 5th-6th there will be a sharp drop in temperature by 7-13 degrees. Strong winds and rain are expected, but in the second decade of the month the temperature will rise again thanks to the arrival of warm air masses from the southwest of Europe.
Despite the expected cooling at the beginning of October, in general, this month promises to be 1-2.5 °C higher than the climatic norm, with the greatest warmth in the southeastern regions of Ukraine and Crimea.
