Solar activity increases: how to survive magnetic storms without headache

In early May, geomagnetic activity is expected in Ukraine. According to the NOAA space weather forecasting center, a period of moderate magnetic storms will last during May 4-6. It is a yellow level of danger on the K-Index scale: from 3.67 to 4. These are not the highest, but can be felt by weather-dependent people.

On Saturday, May 4, it is expected to increase solar activity to K-index 3.9. On Sunday, level 4, and on Monday, May 6, the activity will decrease slightly, although it will remain within the yellow level. It should be noted that these indicators are not critical, but they are able to influence well-being, especially in people with cardiovascular disease, hypertension or chronic ailments.

Magnetic storms occur as a result of solar flares when the flow of charged particles reach the Earth's magnetosphere. Such changes can affect not only electronic communication systems, but also the human body. Most often there are headache, increased fatigue, decreased performance, irritability and sleep problems. Some experience pressure in the temples or blood pressure drops.

Despite common fears, doctors reassure: do not panic. Most symptoms are short -lived and do not pose a serious threat. On these days, it is important to adhere to the usual regime, avoid fatigue, do not overload yourself physically and emotionally. Particular attention is needed by children, the elderly and patients with chronic diseases.

Experts advise to monitor their well -being, drink more water, not drink alcohol and coffee in excess, give up heavy food. Short outdoor walks will help reduce tension. In case of persistent symptoms, you should consult your doctor.

Magnetic activity forecasts are updated every few hours. Therefore, weather -sensitive people should be monitored for changes in order to take measures to stabilize their well -being in a timely manner. A magnetic storm is not a cause for anxiety, but a reminder that the body responds to the environment, even if we do not always notice it.
