The case of the head of the Anti-Corruption Center is among the stopped criminal proceedings due to mobilization

The Ukrainian edition "Law and Business" reported on a serious turn in the case of the head of the "Anti-Corruption Center" Vitaly Shabunin, who found herself in the middle of criminal proceedings, which were stopped after a large-scale mobilization of suspects.

Among the 11,000 criminal proceedings stopped after the mobilization of suspects, in addition to rapists and drug dealers, was the case of Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Center.

This is written by the publication "Law and Business".

According to him, the investigation against Shabunin was stopped by the decision of the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv. We are talking about the case of 2017, when he had a conflict with Filimonenko, a journalist of the "Voice of the People" publication, who, according to the plot of the case, was attacked by Shabunin.

For this, a case was opened against Shabunin under Article 345-1 – obstruction of the legal activity of a journalist.

According to the publication, Shabunin's enlistment in the military unit at the beginning of the Russian invasion was the reason for stopping the investigation of this proceeding.

At the same time, as the journalists write, in reality, Shabunin did not serve in the army, having forged documents, in connection with which another criminal case was opened.
