Until August 30, 2025, Ukraine has a simplified order of voluntary return to military service for those who left part or deserted. This is reminiscent of the Army Information Agency.
This mechanism allows you to return to the army without prior court procedures: it is enough to voluntarily appear to one of the battalions of the reserve, units of the Military Law Enforcement, Police or DBR and express their readiness to continue the service. Within 72 hours, such persons restore contract, payment, security and benefits.
The simplified mechanism concerns the military who left part of May 10, 2025, as well as those whose service was officially suspended at the time of return. The return application can also be submitted through the Army+Application. After confirmation, the person has 24 hours to come to the VSP unit and further to the reserve battalion.
Return is possible in both the former part and new. The battalion helps with the request to the investigation or the court for the desire to serve in a particular unit.
The law avoids criminal liability to those who have arbitrarily left part of the first time and returned voluntarily. If, however, the Unified Register of Pre -trial Investigations already contains information about desertion, the commander's consent should be obtained, as well as to apply to the investigator or court.
The financial support of servicemen is being restored in the battalion of the reserve - on the basis of a monetary certificate from the former part. The battalion commander issues an order for renewal of the service within 72 hours. Awards for the month of unauthorized service are not paid, but from the following - they are restored in full.
Returning to service through a simplified mechanism allows not only to renew a contract and payment, but also to maintain social guarantees, status, as well as the possibility of calculating years of service. Instead, prolonged absence and desertion deprive the serviceman and his family of privileges, and the period of absence is not taken into account in the service.
