According to sources, this issue is actively discussed at a high level after President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the US previous proposal for cooperation in the field of production of critical minerals.
SpaceX Starlink, Ilona Maska, plays a key role in providing communication for both civilians and military Ukraine. Its shutdown could significantly affect the country's defense capability, especially in the context of using unmanned aerial vehicles and coordination of hostilities.
It is reported that during the latest negotiations between US and Ukraine representatives, a request was made to conclude an agreement on access to Ukrainian companies to Ukrainian minerals. In case of refusal, according to one of the sources, access to Starlink may be stopped as soon as possible.
President Zelensky has previously refused to hand over $ 500 billion mineral resources as compensation for military assistance, arguing that Washington's lack of specific security guarantees. At the same time, he stressed that both parties continue to work on finding a compromise, and expressed his hope for a mutually beneficial agreement.
