Nvidia has released updated Game Ready drivers version 566.14, which are optimized for two highly anticipated games — Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl . You can download the updates now via GeForce Experience or via the NVIDIA App, which has officially exited beta testing.
These new drivers allow you to maximize performance in the mentioned games, in particular in the graphically demanding STALKER 2. Nvidia developers shared the results of testing the game on GeForce RTX 40 series video cards, which showed how different models behave at different resolutions.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl Performance Testing
- 4K resolution (without DLSS) : The RTX 4070 delivers around 31 FPS, and even the top-end RTX 4090 doesn't quite reach 60 FPS. However, enabling DLSS significantly improves performance.
- 1440p resolution : RTX 4060 Ti owners will get over 30 FPS without DLSS. This is the optimal choice for smoother gameplay.
- 1080p resolution : Here the RTX 4060 delivers 43 FPS without using DLSS, and at medium settings the frame rate becomes even higher.
As for the GeForce RTX 40 series mobile graphics cards, they also show decent results. For example, the mobile RTX 4070 delivers 36 FPS at 1440p without DLSS and as much as 76 FPS with DLSS and frame generation. Even the RTX 4050 at 1080p shows good frame rates, ensuring smooth gameplay.
Minimum system requirements
To run STALKER 2, the developers have specified the following minimum requirements:
- Processor : AMD Ryzen 5 1600X or Intel Core i5-7600K
- RAM : at least 8 GB
- Graphics card : AMD Radeon RX 580 or GeForce GTX 1060
On these specs, the game will run at 720p resolution and 30 FPS, which may limit the visual experience.
Release and popularity on Steam
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl for release on November 20, 2024. The game will be available on PC and Xbox Series platforms, as well as for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
