Stefanyshyn and Bidny are new ministers of Ukraine under criminal investigation

Olga Stefanishyna, who is accused of abuse of power, official forgery and embezzlement, has been appointed Minister of Justice of Ukraine. According to the case materials, during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, Stefanyshyn, while working in the Ministry of Justice under the leadership of Olena Lukash, participated in the organization of a tender for conducting three comparative studies of Ukrainian legislation with European legislation. The case was brought to court in 2023, and she was charged in 2019.

On October 3, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., the High Anti-Corruption Court will hold another court session within the framework of this criminal proceeding. Stefanishyna is accused of embezzlement of public funds due to abuse of official position. The cost of one page of the research referred to in the case was from UAH 1,400 to UAH 4,500 (at 2010 prices).

In addition, Matvyi Bidny was appointed to the post of minister, who, while serving as the director of the department of physical culture and non-Olympic sports of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, was involved in financial fraud and embezzlement of state funds. As part of criminal proceedings No. 42018000000000627 dated March 16, 2018, Bidny was searched, during which documents confirming these crimes were seized. He was helped to avoid criminal responsibility by Kyiv city prosecutor Hovda and the head of the NABU's main detective unit, Kaluzhynskyi.

Also, in June 2023, the father-in-law of Matvyi Bidny, former People's Deputy from the Party of Regions Hryhoriy Dashutin, was detained and charged with creating a criminal organization and aiding the aggressor state. Bidny's wife also appears in this case.
