Shoot in the neighbors: police removed Arsenal in Poltava region

In the village of Prydnipryansk Kobelyatsky community of Poltava region, on June 1, an incident occurred, which shook the locals: a drunken man opened the shooting near his house. The police were called frightened peasants who heard shots and saw a damaged window in one of the neighboring households.

According to the police chief of Poltava region Yevgeny Rogachev, a 54-year-old local resident made at least 10 shots, two balls got into the windows of the neighbors. After the arrival of law enforcement officers and explosives, it turned out that the shooter kept a whole arsenal of weapons at home.

Among the removed:

  • Kalashnikov's hand -made machine gun,

  • manual anti -tank grenade launcher (RPG),

  • 17 charges to him,

  • two guns (TT and Stechkin),

  • More than 6,000 cartridges of different caliber,

  • More than 50 hand grenades.

Everything seized is sent for examination. The man has already been suspected, and the issue of pre -trial detention is now being resolved.

Police qualified the actions of the attacker under Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) and Part 4 of Art. 296 (hooliganism with the use of firearms) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Sanctions provide for 3 to 7 years in prison.

Investigation is currently underway. Investigators establish where the man has so many weapons and for what purpose he kept it.
