The property of Tetyana Krupa, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise (MSEK), has been seized, including significant amounts of cash in hryvnias, dollars and euros. On October 31, the High Anti-Corruption Court made the corresponding decision based on an investigation request alleging Krupa's corrupt activities.
Details of the arrest
Cash in the amount of 5,051,950 hryvnias, 5,113,300 dollars and 301,060 euros was seized. During the search of Tetyana Krupa's house and office, not only money was seized, but also valuable things, documents and other luxury items that raise questions. Among them are documents for the construction of five houses, contracts for the sale of land plots, two boxes of jewelry and branded jewelry.
The court also seized electronic devices, including a laptop, a phone, several flash drives, and Krupa's printed declarations for the past three years. The court documents mention that project documentation for the construction of a disco club in Chekman Park was also seized.
Corruption scandal and consequences
Corruption suspicions surrounding Krupa and her son Oleksandr, who held a senior position in the local Pension Fund, arose at the beginning of October this year, when law enforcement officers discovered more than 6 million dollars during searches. Already on October 7, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure for Krupa in the form of an arrest for 60 days, with the possibility of making a 500 million hryvnias deposit.
According to the latest declarations, Krupa's income is much lower than the revealed amounts of cash. For her main job, she received 597,300 hryvnias per year, but investigators found 39 land plots and power plants owned by her family.
