The Chernihiv District Court found a man who caused more than 591 thousand hryvnias through the illegal fishing of fish during the spawning period and in the territory of the nature reserve fund. The corresponding decision was made on April 3.
As the investigation was established, the violation occurred on March 21-22 near the village of Prokhorov, which is part of the Michael-Kotsyubyn community. The man was engaged in fishing with forbidden ribs within the regional landscaping park "Interreanity".
The catch of 129 fish of different kinds - pike, walley, bream, lin, crucian and others - were recorded. Environmental expertise estimated the harm of nature at UAH 591 155.
Despite the fact that the defendant did not admit in court, assuring that he was fishing in the allowed place and part of the fish were going to release, inspectors of the Kiev fish protection patrol, who arrived in place, recorded the fact of the offense. Five nets and about 30 kg of fresh fish were found in the man's boat. The fisherman had no permitting documents.
The court imposed a punishment in the form of two years of probation. During this period, the man should periodically appear to the probation authority, to report a change in place of residence or work and has no right to travel outside Ukraine without permission.
The sentence can be appealed within 30 days.
It is reported separately that in the same region there is an investigation into another case of illegal fishing, where losses amounted to over UAH 216 thousand.
