In August 2024, new details were revealed in the case of fraud with the purchase of body armor at the Ukrenergo state enterprise. The decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated August 13 contains information that the ex-investigator of the enterprise, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, ignored the request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) to facilitate the investigation of his subordinate, suspected of fraud.
According to the materials of the appellate proceedings, the prosecutor of the SAP turned to Kudrytskyi with a proposal to submit an application to involve "Ukrenergo" as a victim or a written consent to recognize the company as a victim in criminal proceedings No. 62022100130000251. At the time of the appellate review, on August 13, 2024, Ukrenergo was not involved in the case as a victim, and no civil lawsuit was filed.
Volodymyr Kudrytskyi is a witness in this case, while the main suspect is the head of the Ukrenergo Security Department, who was detained by NABU detectives and SBU investigators in June 2024.
According to the investigation, in March 2022, Ukrenergo purchased 1,225 bulletproof vests at a price that was more than double the average offer on the market. The investigation estimates the damages caused to state interests at 10.3 million hryvnias.
The court has already arrested the suspected top manager of Ukrenergo and ordered NABU investigators to check the possible involvement of Kudrytsky himself in these frauds.
