NGO Public Television imposed a fine of UAH 5100 for failure to comply with the decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv. This decision concerned the organization of the organization to refute false information about Andrei Portnov, which was distributed on their media resources. In particular, the Pechersk Court in its decision of August 6, 2024 declared false statements about the probable involvement of Portnov in the occupation of Crimea.
The lawyer of Andriy Portnov, Karina Mikitan, reported that despite the court decision, the NGO Public Television did not delete the information posted. As a result, the state executor imposed a fine for non -compliance with the court's requirements, and warned the organization of criminal liability for deliberate ignoring the enforcement of the judgment. The NGO is obliged to execute the court's decision within 10 working days.
The court's decision also stated that "public television" had to place a refutation on all their media resources within 5 days after the force of force. However, according to the lawyer, these requirements were not properly fulfilled.
The Court also noted that the Public Reporting About Portnova was posted with an advertising note, which, according to the lawyer, indicates the ordering of the material and financial interest in the discredit of Portnov. The lawyer also stressed that at the time of placement of the material, a certain amount was paid, which was a direct proof of the existence of the payer who financed this publication.
In addition, A.Pportnov won several court cases for the protection of honor and reputation against such media resources as Statewatch, Lb.ua, The Kyiv Independent, as well as well-known journalists and organizations, including Yuri Butusov and TV channel "Direct". The decisions of Butusov's courts are currently under compulsory execution.
